 Highlights of spiritual activities at Sivananada  Ashram during the month of January 2010.

 On auspicious Vasant Panchami, Sri Lakshmi Homam was performed at the ashram and large number of devotees participated. People come from far and wide to Sri Sri Sri Maa Ashta Lakshmi Mandir at the ashram to receive Blessings of the Maa Ashtalaxmi.

Ashram was blessed by a visit of His Holiness Sri Swami Hanshanandaji (DandiSwami) Maharaj, who is 107 years. Three day divine satsang was arranged and attended by a number of devotees at Sri Swami Chidananda Dhyana Yoga Mandir.

Devotees at the ashram were once again happy to receive Maha Mandleshwar Srimat Swami Satyamitrananda Giriji Maharaj’s darshan and stasang in the month of January 2010.

 61^st Republic day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the ashram. More than hundred people and school children joined Flag Hosting ceremony, done by Ashram’s Secretary Shri Rajivbhai Shah.

 6^th Brahmotsava of Sri Dukhbhanjan Hanumanji Mandir was celebrated in great devotion at Ashram, in which eight couples performed Sri Maruti Yajna. In the evening Sri Ajaybhai Yagnikji’s recited Sri Sundarkand Parayan with devotees. On Jan 31st Shri Ashvinbhai Pathak’s Sundarkand Parayan also took place and attended by devotees.

The Executive Samitee meetings were held on 2^nd and 5^th Sundays of the month. On 2^nd Sunday Sri Swamiji Maharaj headed the meeting before departing to his spiritual tour to South Africa. After the meeting satsang was held and more than three hundred devotees joined the satsang and prasad was served to all.

As always, daily five Yogasana practice Classes and Two Yogasana - Meditation classes for beginners, Reiki training for Level I and II, Yogic consultation went on smoothly during the month.

 Food for Children through Narayana Seva, Monthly grain distribution to about forty needy families through Vishwanath Sewa Kendra, Daily Satsang & Puja Archana in the temples are being regularly performed at Ashram.  Every Saturday Mass recitation of Sunderkand and Every Friday Vedant Vimarsh Varg, Gayatri Yajna on First Sunday, Purnima’s Sri Satyanarayan Vrat Katha and Sri Lalita Sahasranam Parayana are regular part of the Ashram’s activities. 

 Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji 's Spiritual Tour to South Africa

 Haridwar: From Jan 1st to 9th Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj stayed at Shri Ram Kutir for personal Sadhana. On Jan 8th  upon a very sincere request of Rev Sri Swami Satyamitranandaji Maharaj, Swamiji attended Khumbha Mela opening program which was presided by H. E. Sri Ramesh Pokhariyal, Chief Minister of Uttrakhand. Heads of number of spiritual and social organizations graced the occasion, where woolen blankets, sweets and cash money were distributed to  the sanitation staff of Khumbh Mela. Hundreds of the families where given warmth by this wonderful gesture when Mercury was going down to 2 or 3 Celsius. Sri Swamiji left for Ahmedabad on Jan 9th afternoon. 

Delhi : On Jan 12, 2010 Sri Swamiji Maharaj arrived at Delhi on early dawn hours. During his stay here, satsang were organized for the defense personnel, for the staff of Air India, staff of employment exchange Govt. of India and he addressed the corporate of Hero Honda family. On early morning of Jan 16, 2010 Sri Swamiji flew to Johannesburg for his month long South African tour.

Johannesburg : On Jan 16, 2010  Shri Swami Adhayatmannandaji departed from Delhi and arrived to at O. R. Tambo International Airport Johannesburg . Swamiji was received by a great number of devotees and officials of Shri Rameshwarmahadev Mandir. South Africa Patel community, attorney General of Republic of South Africa welcomed him with flowers and garlands. After prayers for peace and prosperity of the world at large Sri Swamiji left for Lenasia.

On Jan 17, 2010 mid day a grand welcome lunch was organised in honour of Sri Swamiji which was attended by very prominent citizens and corporate of number of business organizations like Sahara groups etc. Media coverage by "Rising sun" appeared on Thursday Jan 21, 2010 .
 In the evening of Jan 17th Sri Swamiji paid his homage to most worshipful and revered Bapuji Mahatma Gandhiji at Gandhi square. This is the memorable place from where Gandhiji started his movement of satyagrah, the fight of non violence, later on which continued in India like a wild fire and forced British Empire to quit India.

On Jan 18, 2010 Sri Swamiji visited "Credel of Humanity" 1.4 billion old caves. It is 70 meter down from the sea level and known as a sterk fountain caves this area is known as a krugerdorp. They believe that the commencement of the world started from here 4.2 billions years. They have found the Human fossils of 1.4 billions years old.  In the evening a warm public welcome reception was accorded to reverted Swamiji by number of spiritual and social organizations of Johannesburg.  Jan 19,2010  evening Swamiji's live talk was broadcasted by Radio Lenasia followed by Swamiji's discourse at Shri Vishnu Temple.

On Jan 20, 2010 early morning Sri Swamiji with a group of devotees visited famous games park which is existing in hundred square miles forest and protected under national forest. They all had guided and protected Safari tour, everyone enjoyed wild life of Elephants, Lions, Tiger, Ziraaf, Zebra, Wild Bore and of course large family of Baboons Birds and blue bucks. 

On his way back Swamiji visited a famous golden Era Group packaging company at Magwasie. They are 45 hundred inmates of the concern work for 329 different concerns and producing 350 tons packing printed boxes in 07 colors. Sri Swamiji addressed them on the subject of problems of production management and solution through self management. Thanks to Shri Mahendrabhai Naran & Smt. Urmilaben's and their generous hospitality.

 Pieterburge:  On Jan 21, 2010 mid day Sri Swamiji Maharaj arrived at Pieter burg and a very traditional red carpet welcome was accorded by the members and devotees of Pieter burg Hinhu Seva Samaj. After tree plantation in the temple premises Shri Swamiji addressed the allied gathering of the doctors from UN on the subject of Message to Mankind of Bhgawat Gita. Next day morning Swamiji visited the African native kids creche. On his way to Johannesburg Airport he visited Wits University at Johannesburg.

Cape Town: On Jan 22, 2010  evening Sri Swamiji Maharaj was accorded a traditional welcome at Hindu Cultural Society Cape Town. During the three days long stay Sri Swamiji gave discourses on the subjects of 1. Need of spiritual life in present scenario, 2. Essence of Ramayana through the life and teaching of Lord Hanuman, 3. Essence of Bhagawat Gita. Sri Swamiji also conducted a yoga symposium and joined the famous Hare Kishna movment's festival of chariot. Sri Swamiji inaugurated these festival by breaking coconuts traditionally and at the end of Rath Yatra Sri Swamiji shared his very  touchy experience with Lord Jagannath.

On Jan 23, 2010 early morning Swamiji visited a famous Table Mountain they say so and believed that Table Mountain is at lest 6 times older than the Himalayas. It was formed under the sea about 600 million years ago. Glaciers carved it flat. Then the mountain gradually rose, thrust up by tectonic forces (Geologist reported this). The Cape's original Khoi San inhabitants named the mountain "Hoerikwaggo". It means mountain of the sea. This mountain was named by forest european who claimed table mountain Antonio De Saldanha, called it "Taboa De Caba" Table of the cape. From Table Mountain Swamiji visited famous water front and Cape Point where the meeting point of Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean.  Sri Swamji planted trees in the campus of Cape Hindi Cultural Society visited Lantsown Bottling company and also holy Anand Kutir, where devotees of most worshipful and revered Guru Bhagwan Shri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj caters the message of Divine life under the able guidance of mother Swami Vidyanandaji and Mother Swami parvatiji.
Thanks to Mrs.Urmilaben, Mr. Jairambhai, Shri Dirshan Kumar and sister Roshin who looked after Swamiji's all comforts and graceful visit to Cape Town.

Port Elizabeth:  On Jan 25, 2010 Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj arrived here in the afternoon. Dr. Praveenbhai and Mr.Mohanbhaihai received Swamiji and made him drive through a beautiful sea beach, Ports, Courts, Nelsonmendla University and industrial estates etc. before reaching home. In the evening at Shri Port Elizabeth Seva Samaj temple Swamiji shared the words of his wisdom by bringing spot light on meditation, its theory and technique which was attended by number of young people from the east and west. After tree plantation on Jan 26, 2010 morning Swamiji left for Uitenhage. Thanks to Mrs & Mr Mohanbhai and all members of his divine family to look after Swamiji's comfortable stay as well organizing the programs at Port Elizabeth. 

Uttenhage: This is the season of summer in South Africa, In Johannesburg it rains now where as Cape Town it rains in their winter i.e. Jul & Aug. Uitenhage is suffering from drought enhance the devotees of Shri Radha Krishna Temple and members of Uitnhage cultural society requested Shri Swamiji Maharaj for Parjanya Yajna i.e. a special home for the request of rain god to shower its grace. Fortunate enough was the strong desire of devotees that it started raining from previous night itself. A Homam was done very elaborately and with the great faith and love which was attended by a large crowd which was followed by hoisting the flag of India as it happened the 61st Republic Day of India. Tree plantation was done in the premises of the institute where the local municipality supplied free saplings and in the evening there was a spiritual meet. On Jan 27, 2010 early morning Swamiji left for East London.
