central purpose of existence is to recognise your
eternal identity with the supreme Spirit. It is to grow
into the image of the Divine. The supreme One embodies
the highest perfection. It is spotless purity. To
recognise your identity with That, to attain union with
That, is verily to grow into the very likeness of the
Divine. The aspirant, therefore, as his initial step,
has to get rid of all the countless impurities, and the
demoniacal elements that have come to cling to him in
his embodied state. Then he has to acquire lofty virtues
and auspicious, divine qualities. Thus purified,
knowledge flashes upon him like the brilliant rays of
the sun upon the crystal waters of a perfectly calm
lake."<br>
<br>
"This process demands a resolute will, determined
effort and arduous struggle. In other words, strength
and infinite power are the prime necessity. Thus it is
the Divine Mother who has to operate through the
aspirant. Let us now consider how?"<a

Early Morning Meditation Talks from " Ponder These
Truths " by Sri Swami Chidananda <br>
<br>
<img moz-do-not-send="true"

alt="" align="left" height="174" width="150"><br>
The Divine Name<br>
"God is intangible: avyakta, adrishta, agochara
(unmanifest, unseen, imperceptible). All this is made
very clear in the Vishnu-sahasranama. He is gudhah
(hidden): eko devah sarvabhuteshu gudhah (The one Lord
is hidden in all beings). He is sukshmati sukshma
(subtler than the subtlest), avangmano-gochara (not
known by the senses or the mind), yato vacho nivartante
aprapya manasa saha (whence all speech, along with the
mind, turn back not reaching It). He is beyond thought,
beyond speech. What then is the way to approach God?<br>
<br>
The Divine Name is like a boatman who touches both
banks. He comes to this bank and he can take us across,
because he goes to the other bank as well. The Name has
this great advantage. Jagat Guru Lord Krishna says: “He
who repeats My Name at the time of leaving the body
attains Me. He does not return once again into this
mortal world.” Abheda, abhedata of nama and nami (The
non-difference, identity of the Lord and His Name) has
been established by the direct experience of those who
have practised this path and attained perfection.

Q & A on Spiritual Life and Sadhana from “May I
Answer That?”- by Holy Master Sri Swami Sivanandaji
Maharaj.<br>
<br>
Give me a very simple, but very impressive proof for the
existence of the soul.<br>
<br>
You say in daily life, "My body", "My Prana", "My mind",
"My Indriya". This clearly denotes that the Self or
Atman is entirely different from the body, the mind, the
Prana and the Indriyas. The mind and the body are your
servants or instruments. They are as much outside of you
as these towels, chairs, cups are. You are holding the
body just as you are holding a long walking stick in
your hand. You are the possessor or proprietor of this
body. The body is your property or possession. The body,
the senses, the mind, etc., are not the soul, but belong
to it.<br>
