Adoration & Prostrations Holy Master Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj on HIS
Birth Anniversary (Sept 8, 2019)

"Gurudev Lived to serve All"

"Serve all. Love all. Service of humanity is worship of God. There is no
greater yoga than service of mankind." These are the sterling utterances
of  Gurudev. He was an embodiment of karma yoga."

Even when he was a monk in absolute seclusion, not speaking to anyone,
engaged in intense spiritual sadhana—penance, meditation, introspection,
study, silence—he used to go and work one hour a day or more at a little
medical dispensary in Laxmanjula. Being an embodiment of selfless
service as well as a qualified doctor, he was an ideal servant of the
suffering and the sick, the yatris and the sadhus living nearby. And
events are narrated how far he went to make his service one hundred per
cent perfect and complete.

"Gurudev’s life after Self-realisation, after becoming an enlightened
sage and shining as a great light of the Himalayas, was a saga of
selfless service—service of the poor, service of the suffering, service
of the sick, service of the distressed, service of spiritual aspirants
and seekers, service of all humanity, service of the whole world. In
diverse, numerous ways, his entire life was one great, continuous stream
of selfless service. He had even forgotten how to think of himself; he
could only think of others. He lived thinking of others: "In what way
can I be of benefit, in what way can I serve?" That was Gurudev Swami
Sivanandaji Maharaj till the very last days."- Swami Chidananda << Read

Spiritual Significance of Navaratri ( Sept 29, 2019 - October 8, 2019)

"The central purpose of existence is to recognise your eternal identity
with the supreme Spirit. It is to grow into the image of the Divine. The
supreme One embodies the highest perfection. It is spotless purity. To
recognise your identity with That, to attain union with That, is verily
to grow into the very likeness of the Divine. The aspirant, therefore,
as his initial step, has to get rid of all the countless impurities, and
the demoniacal elements that have come to cling to him in his embodied
state. Then he has to acquire lofty virtues and auspicious, divine
qualities. Thus purified, knowledge flashes upon him like the brilliant
rays of the sun upon the crystal waters of a perfectly calm lake."
"This process demands a resolute will, determined effort and arduous
struggle. In other words, strength and infinite power are the prime
necessity. Thus it is the Divine Mother who has to operate through the
aspirant. Let us now consider how?" ........Swami Sivananda<< Read More

"The Holy Stream"...........Life Divine of  His Holiness Sri Swami
Chidanandaji Maharaj ( on His Birth Anniversary September 24, 2019 )

The story of Swami Chidananda has been a story of total divinisation of
the human personality. It is a story of silent service and complete
self-effacement. On the basis of the profound authority of his personal
experience and direct realisation, therefore, this peerless saint of the
Himalayas could proclaim to the world of seekers: "Yoga is not only in
Nirvikalpa Samadhi. It is in every moment. .............."

"How Rama came into his life is an instructive lesson to every seeker.
To him in his childhood He came as the idol Kodanda Rama, whom he
worshiped and in whom he had his whole being. At a later stage, He came
to him in the shape of the unfortunate lepers. Then a time came when the
Lord appeared before him in the form of the inspired words of Ramdas.
Next, the life of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa rose before him as a beckoning
ideal. Saints and mystics blessed him. At last, the Lord gave him
Darshan in the form of his Sadguru. Sivananda entered into his very
being. He was filled with devotion to Guru. Sivananda dwelt in him and
he dwelt in Sivananda..................."

Early Morning Meditation Talks from " Ponder These Truths " by  Sri
Swami Chidananda

Dying to The Little Self : ".......What Guru Maharaj has summed up as,
“Die to live, lead the divine life.” “When shall I be free? When I shall
cease to be.” “Then shall I be free, when I shall cease to be.” Then
shall be the great orb, the great sunrise of God-awareness,
God-consciousness, the great day of days, of rejoicing, of hallelujah,
of vijaya (victory). And forever this human consciousness is set to
rest, atyantika abhava (total, complete absence) of the false “I”. “For
it is in dying to the little self that one attains to ever-lasting
life.” It does not mean some grand or imaginary, fanciful, post-mortem
stage or other-worldly stage. Everlasting life is here and now, and
dying to the little self is the process of Yoga.  - Swami Chidananda

Q & A on Spiritual Life and Sadhana from “May I Answer That?”- by Holy
Master Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj.

Why does not the benevolent, kind and all-merciful God help the
righteous man and give him happiness? Why does He leave him to the
mercies of his Purva Karma?

Karma is likened to the wheel. It has to work out; because the force
that set it in motion has to be spent. It is a cycle of action and
reaction. Just as the arrow once discharged from the bow cannot be
withdrawn, even if the hunter feels that he has aimed at a wrong target,
Prarabdha Karma, the fruit of those Karmas performed in previous births
that have come up for experience in this present birth, cannot be annulled.

How then does God help His devotee? The all-merciful God does help His
devotee by strengthening his will-power, his power of endurance, to bear
the Karma-Phala with a cheerful countenance. The devotee is certainly
not left to the mercy of his Purva Karma; he is beautifully clothed in
the protective shield of His grace. Just as in the worst winter and
violent storm, you remain unaffected in your own house and in your warm
clothing, the devotee (though to the onlookers he is poor, sick or
suffering) does not feel that he is suffering at all and is ever happy
and blissful in His remembrance.
