June 1, 2013 Marks Sannyasa Diksha day of Holy Master Swami Sivananadaji
Maharaj.
"The power that sprang out of his renunciation has outspread into the
world, and has brought new life, hope, solace, light, strength, joy and
inspiration to literally countless millions of souls. His renunciation
can rightly be said to be an offering to God, to appease the spiritual
hunger of His soul-famished children. It has indeed become transformed
into the spirit of Divine Life to pervade the modern world in the form
of a divine urge, a divine impulse towards virtue, goodness and
godliness." << More>> <http://divyajivan.org/sivananda/index.htm>

Early Meditation Talk from "Ponder These Truths by Sri Swami Chidananda
Faith Hope and Charity*
*" Faith, hope and charity---never let go of these. Always let them be
enshrined within you---faith in the Supreme, hope for yourself and
charity towards all."
"Thus finish your journey and you will attain the Goal. The journey will
take you to your destiny---your divine destiny, the fulfillment of which
is the most important thing in life. All other things come afterward;
they are secondary. In this way, understand your life, understand
yourself, understand your relationship to the Maker, and understand your
relationship to the rest of creation."
"May you ponder these cardinal points of your life's journey---charity
towards God's creatures, absolute hope about yourself, and absolute
faith in the Being Who has brought you into being, Who has placed you
among His creatures, so that you may become like Him and you can attain
Him as your supreme Goal!"/- /Swami Chidananda << More>>

Yoga Learning from a book "Yoga, A way of life" by Sri Swami Adhyatmananda
Primary & Main Yogasana (Yoga Postures)
The Physical techniques of Yoga are the stepping stones to meditation.
According to Patanjali, Yoga is the cessation of the modifications of
the mind.
In the beginning the primary prerequisite to peace of mind is posture.
Yogasana practiced to gain steady posture, health and lightness in the
body. All Yoga postures are intended to directly or indirectly quiet the
mind. The majority of Asana have been devised to build up different
parts of the body and to develop the strength required by the more
advanced Physical disciplines. The purpose of the yogasana is to
recondition the system, both mind and body, and to develop the nervous
and glandular systems. The different Yoga postures have been devised to
bring a rich supply of blood to the brain and to the various parts of
the spinal column. The yogasana work by stretching, bending and twisting
the spinal column in different directions to promote the health of the
nerves. When the body is purified, Prana (vital energy) can be conserved
and the individual becomes healthy and conscious. << More>>

Gitamrutam
The sages understand Sannyas to be the renunciation of action with
desire; the wise declare the abandonment of the fruits of all actions as
Tyaga. ( 18:2)
Acts of sacrifice, gift and austerity should not be abandoned, but
should be performed; sacrifice, gift and also austerity are the
purifiers of the wise.(18:5)
Whatever obligatory action is done, O Arjuna, merely because it ought to
be done, abandoning attachment and also the desire for reward, that
renunciation is regarded as Sattwic!( 18:9)
The man of renunciation, pervaded by purity, intelligent and with his
doubts cut asunder, does not hate a disagreeable work nor is he attached
to an agreeable one.(18:10)
Verily, it is not possible for an embodied being to abandon actions
entirely; but he who relinquishes the rewards of actions is verily
called a man of renunciation.(18:11)
