"All this is verily <i>Brahman</i>. This <i>Atman</i> (the
Supreme Self) is <i>Brahman</i>. This <i>Atman</i> has
four quarters (four feet, portions, aspects or conditions)."<br>
<br>
This <i>Atman </i>called Om is<i> Para (</i>higher) <i>Brahman</i>
as well as <i>Apara </i>(lower) <i>Brahman</i> and has
four quarters, four feet, not like those of a cow, but like
the fractions of a coin.<br>
<br>
This Atman is Brahman. Brahman cannot be demonstrated. But
it is possible to infer its existence from certain empirical
facts. The existence of Brahman is inferred or known on the
ground of its being the self of everyone. For, everyone is
conscious of the existence of his self and never thinks "l
am not." If the existence of the Self were not known,
everyone would think "I am not." And this Self of whose
existence all are conscious, is <i>Brahman</i>. That
Brahman whose existence is inferred by certain empirical
facts, by the study of the Upanishads, is now pointed out as
being directly cognized or realized by the text, "Ayam Atma
Brahma-this self or jivatma is Brahman." The word Atma means
that which pervades all.<br>
pad: four feet; four quarters;<i> Pada</i> means foot or
instrument. <i>Visva (</i>Jagrat Avastha, the waking
state),<i> Taijasa</i> (Svapna Avastha, the dreaming state),
<i>Prajna</i> (Sushupti Avastha, the state of deep sleep)
and <i>Turiya</i>, super consciousness which is same as <i>Brahman</i>,
the <i>Atman.</i>,<br>
<br>
<i> Visva </i>is the individual soul who experiences the
gross objects in the waking state. <i>Visva</i> is the
reflected intelligence (<i>Chaitanya, Chidabhasa</i>).
Taijasa is the reflected Chaitanya, the individual soul who
experiences the dream objects in the dreaming state. Prajna
is the individual soul, the reflected Chaitanya or
intelligence who experiences the bliss of deep sleep state.
<i>Visva, Taijasa and Prajna</i> are one. The experience of
<i>Prajna</i> in deep sleep is expressed by <i>Visva </i>in
the waking state. It is <i>Visva</i> who says: "l enjoyed
sound sleep last night. I did not know anything." - Sri

<div align="left">The highest ultimate declaration, the
quintessential truth, declared by people of the supreme
absolute experience is<i> Brahma Satyam Jagan-Mithya
Jivo-Brahmaiva Naparah</i> (Brahman alone is real, the
world is unreal. Jiva is not other than Brahman).</div>
<div align="left"><br>
</div>
<div align="left">I shall tell you within the compass of
half a verse the quintessence, the heart, the very essence
of the teachings expounded in innumerable scriptures and
that is: Brahman alone is real. This phenomenal appearance
before us is only a relative reality, ever-changing,
unstable, unreliable, never dependable, limited, subject
to time and space, subject to decay and dissolution,
having a beginning and an end. Characterized by these
defects and shortcomings, everything here seen, perceived
by the human individual consciousness, is but a mere
temporary relative reality. And the individual soul that
thinks of itself as the knower of this, or the seer of
this, or the experiencer of this ever-changing phenomenal
flux, which is called samsara or the universe, is a
non-entity, for Brahman alone is real and the jivatman,
the individual, is Brahman plus upadhis (limiting adjuncts
or additions).- Swami Chidananda Swami Chidananda<a

& Main Yogasana (Yoga Postures) <br>
The Physical techniques of Yoga are the stepping stones to
meditation. According to Patanjali, Yoga is the cessation
of the modifications of the mind.</div>
<div align="left"><br>
</div>
<div align="left">In the beginning the primary prerequisite
to peace of mind is posture. Yogasana practiced to gain
steady posture, health and lightness in the body. All Yoga
postures are intended to directly or indirectly quiet the
mind. The majority of Asana have been devised to build up
different parts of the body and to develop the strength
required by the more advanced Physical disciplines. The
purpose of the yogasana is to recondition the system, both
mind and body, and to develop the nervous and glandular
systems. The different Yoga postures have been devised to
bring a rich supply of blood to the brain and to the
various parts of the spinal column. The yogasana work by
stretching, bending and twisting the spinal column in
different directions to promote the health of the nerves.
When the body is purified, Prana (vital energy) can be
conserved and the individual becomes healthy and
conscious. <a moz-do-not-send="true"

Rural area of Gujarat. It is an extensive program
running in its fourth year that focuses on providing
educational aid to the under served Children in the form
of distributing Note-books, Books to junior grade
students ( of 1st through 4th grade) and notebooks of
150 & 200 pages to higher grade students ( of 5th

have been planned to be distributed free through various
centers of Divya Jivan Sanskrutik Sang of Gujarat.
Ashram's team is doing wonderful work in coordinating,

thanks to the selfless workers at various centers who
goes to schools and make it possible to reach to the
needy children. <br>

<div align="left">
<div align="left"> Parable Of the Ants and Mountain of
Sugar <br>
There were thousands of ants living on a hill of salt.
Being informed by an ant that there is a mountain of
sugar nearby, some ants went to have their fill from it.
Many of them walked on and on, but throughout the
mountain they could find nothing except salt, because
they had in their mouths salt particles which they were
reluctant to leave aside. Some few left aside the
particles of salt and took their mouthfuls of sugar,
thinking that they are carrying the whole of the
mountain!</div>
<div align="left"> <br>
Similar is the case with the ordinary persons of the
world, who cannot find Bliss even if they are informed
that the mountain of Bliss lies with them, or that they
are walking upon the mountain itself, for they are
reluctant to leave aside the attachments and selfish
ends to which they are fast bound.</div>
<div align="left"> <br>
Mind itself is the cause of bondage and liberation. If
the salt-particles of attachment are not renounced, one
cannot get abiding peace anywhere, throughout the
universe. Some few are able to practice renunciation to
a small extent. Thereby they experience only a little
reflection of Bliss. Blessed is he who merges himself
into Bliss, thereby becoming Bliss itself, the result of
the supreme renunciation of all desires and attachments.
