synonymous with Sakti or the Divine Power that manifests, sustains and
transforms the universe as the one unifying force of Existence. In
fact, worship of <i>Devi</i> is not sectarian; it does not belong to
any cult. By <i>Devi</i> or Sakti we mean the presupposition of all
forms of existential power, the power of knowledge, of omniscience.
These powers are the glorious attributes of God—you may call Him Vishnu
or Siva or as you like. In other words, Sakti is the very possibility
of the Absolute’s appearing as many, of God’s causing this universe.
Sakti and Sakta are one; the Power and the one who possesses the Power
cannot be separated; God and Sakti are like fire and heat of fire."</span></p>

"The basic mistake, the great error, the fundamental first sin, as they
say, is <i>deh ko mai manna </i>(considering the body as “I”). It is
due to this <i>
adhyasa </i>(wrong identification) that you identify yourself with
your <i>
upadhis</i>,<i> </i>with your likes and dislikes, your prejudices and
vices, your lust, anger, greed, delusion, pride and jealousy. You
identify yourself with these things and therefore you are one with
them. They completely catch hold of you. You are in their power. For
the time being you become that; you are no longer divine or even human;
you take the form of that strong emotion or passion that dominates you.
You become it, and in that state you are in total delusion. You do not
know what you are doing. All reason, intelligence, common sense take

Meditation is a technique for calming down the restlessness of the mind
and awakening the spiritual consciousness. Regular practice brings
inner peace, happiness and freedom from restless thinking. Meditation
also relaxes the body and nerves, relieves stress and frees the mind
from anxiety and worry.<br>
<p>Regular practice of meditation brings deep positive changes in
the
behavior, thinking, state of mind and attitude. It develops
tranquility, inner peace, patience and tolerance, increased
self-mastery, discipline and inner strength, and the ability to focus
the mind at will. It awakens an ability to deal calmly with problems
and difficulties, avoid worries and anxieties and find solutions to
problems.</p>
<p>For those who are serious and persistent, meditation can bring
