"Start Sadhana Now "- Sri Swami Sivananda

"Act now. Live now. Know now. Realize now. Be happy now.
Every death is a reminder. Every bell that rings says, "The end is
near". Every day robs off from you one part of your precious life.
Therefore, you should be very earnest in plunging yourself in constant
Sadhana. Never fall a victim to fruitless regret. Today is the best day.
Today is the day of your new birth. Start Sadhana now. With folded
palms, bid good-bye to past mistakes and faults. You have learnt your
lessons. March forward now with new hope, determination, and vigilance"

"Waver not. Fear not. Doubt not. Do something substantial in the path of
Sadhana instead of wasting your time in idle pursuits and lethargy. You
have infinite strength within you. There is a vast reservoir of power
within you. Therefore, do not lose heart. Obstacles are stepping stones
to success. They will develop your will. Do not allow yourself to be
crushed by them. Defects remind you of perfection. Sin reminds you of
virtue. Chose the positive path"

"Sadhana is spiritual movement consciously systematized. Sadhana is the
purpose for which we have come to this place. Abhyasa and Sadhana are
synonymous terms. The object of Sadhana is to release life from the
limitations with which it is bound. Sadhana is a lifelong process. Every
day, every hour, every minute, is an onward march. Obstacles are
innumerable in this great voyage. But, so long as you hold God as thy
guide, there is nothing to worry about. You are sure to reach the other
shore." - Swami Sivananda<< More>>

Early Morning Meditation Talks from " Ponder These Truths " by  Sri
Swami Chidananda

What Pleases the Lord?
"It is feeling that converts an ordinary action into a spiritual
process, spiritualises your action. And that is the way of the devotee.
It is specially the way of disciples and followers of Gurudev Swami
Sivananda Maharaj; for he has given this secret, that the most important
thing in spiritual life is the feeling, bhav, with which you engage in
doing all things in the spiritual field. He revealed to us, he taught us
the importance, the greatness, the indispensable necessity of bhav for
successful spiritual life and successful spiritual sadhana."

"Let us purify our heart, and that purified heart will know the
sublime bhav of devotion and love. And it is through such bhav that
whatever we do, no matter how imperfect it may be, will become
acceptable to the Lord as though it were perfect. Bhav, feeling of the
heart, that is the one way of drawing down His grace. Think about it and
cultivate it with diligence. Pray for it. Devotion, compassion,
meditation, combined with bhav—everything in conjunction
with bhav—becomes the highest qualification, pleases the Lord, draws His
grace and makes your sadhana successful. God bless you!"  - Swami
Chidananda <<More>>

Learning of  "Jeevan Yog" from a Yoga Acharya Swami Adhyatmananda
Through TV episodes of "Jeevan Yoga" Series by Doordarshan Girnar

Prana - "The true meaning of Prana is not only breath. The Prana is
energy. It is universal power, brightness, light and intelligence. All
these cosmic energies are named as Prana."Yatkinchit Jagat Sarvam
Drishyate Shruyatepiva..This Prana is filled in all that we see and
hear, the inside and outside of all things, all movement etc. in this
world.

The Prana is the source of all capabilities and the power in the
universe. Prana is the only power behind the normal functioning of the
system of respiration (inhalation and exhalation), blood circulation,
digestion, excretion of urine and stool, system producing semen,
structure of our bones and also the nervous system. The working abilities
of sensory organs and motor organs improve as each cell  gets extra
nutrition. The secret of beauty of skin, shining of the face, brightness
of the eyes, intelligence power and development of mental power is the
result of the practice of Pranayama. The practice of Pranayama means
oneness with cosmic energy. Pranayama Sadhana opens the doors of subtle
life from the gross life "-  Swami
Adhyatmananda.<http://divyajivan.org/Yoga_Book/chapter_3_Prana.pdf>

Q & A on Spiritual Life and Sadhana from “May I Answer That?”- by Holy
Master Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj.

Can truth be compromised in the sense that telling a lie is sometimes
not only inevitable, but also indispensable? Will such a breaking away
from truth be justified?

Truth is truth and falsehood is falsehood. They are as wide apart as
the terminals of a diameter of a circle or the north and the south
poles. He who wants ethical perfection, who loves Dharma for the sake of
the Supreme, ought to stick to truth however crucial be the
circumstances, however tense be the situation. Think of Harischandra ...
how he stuck to truth even in the face of trials. How his name is to
stand, for all time to come, for truth undimmed! Harischandra was truth
personified. That is why he is known as Satya Harischandra. This single
instance is enough to sustain man’s living on a sound basis of truth,
however disastrous and threatening be the crises one has to face.
However inevitable and indispensable it be, and however much the
situation demands to gain some selfish ends, falsehood should ruthlessly
be avoided. Truth and falsehood cannot be linked together. Yoking of the
one with the other is awfully absurd. No doubt, in the Bhagavata and
other Puranas a few exceptional instances have been cited, where
speaking untruth would be considered appropriate. But they are a matter
of exception, they are not applicable to all times and all persons. For
illuminating and interesting information in this connection, go through
my book, "Ethical Teachings".Can truth be compromised in the sense that
telling a lie is sometimes not only inevitable, but also indispensable?
Will such a breaking away from truth be justified?
