Everyone wants to help in whatever way he or she can and share the grief. Intention is only to inspire other devotees of the Lord and bring out the best in them and help in their spiritual growth.  Email address has been eliminated for the individual's privacy. 

We are distressed to hear about the heavy loss of life and property due to
the earthquake which shook some parts of Gujarat. Swami Ramswarupananda
tells us that you, Swamiji, have taken up extensive relief operations with
help of volunteers.

feel like contributing towards their welfare and rehabilitation. Would you

I am writing from Satyananda Ashram of Florence:Italy (we subscribe to your news letter); many people who come to us for yoga and spiritual contact are asking about situation in Gujarat after the earthquake. They all are feeling great symapathy and are very worried about the general situation: damns, dykes, nuclear tests etc, in the area and also along the failla going towards the Gangetic plain.

All our sympathy goes to you from a country that also has had very bad experiences with earthquake damage, but recently nothing to be compared to this Gujarat disaster! We will be holding groups of Maha Mrtyunjaya Mantra chanting for the suffering people of Gujarat, beginning in a few days.

What has happened and is still happening in Gujarat is most shocking and disturbing. Our hearts go out for those who have suddenly seen everything they held close and dear disappear without any trace or warning. We pray for the peace of their souls and to give strength to their relatives and near and dear ones to bear this tragedy.

We sincerely pray that the Ashram has not suffered in this devastation.

With the communications in total disarray it must be a very very tough and difficult job to extend any relief work to the effected people. There is not much that we can do from here but in our small way like to contribute some clothes which could be useful in covering the bodies of the unfortunate souls. 1. We have made appeal for the earthquake victims. All the donation
that we will receive will be sent to the Divyajivan Sangh, Ahmedabad.

2. Sri Kantibhai Bhatt is great devotee of Gurudev and prominent person
in Indian community. He is father of Dr Neelaben who met you last month in
the Ashram. He has offered his services for the holy task. He can't do
physical work but he is physically fit to move around even he can lead a
team. He may be helpful in distributing items or record keeping etc. He is
retired teacher and can do very good service to the victims. Sri Kantibhai
is also helping people in Australia by consoling the family when any
relative is passed away, with chanting Bhagwat Gita etc. He is prepared to
come at his own cost and at your suggestion. Please advise Sri Mukul Desai,
son in law of Sri Kantibahi. We will send what ever donation we have
collected with Sri Kantibhai.

3. Another task the Divine Life Society can do with help of Sri
Kantibhai is to send container of clothes and other useful items from
Australia. Please advise where would you like us to send the container
either Bombay or Kandla? The container will reach with in month of time.

4. Sri Deep Jadeja is also devotee of Pujya Gurudev. His father is in
UK and they are also disciple of HH Swamiji. He has few acres of land in
Jamnagar. There is water facility also. He has offered this land for
TEMPORARY settlement of camp etc. Please advise Sri Deepji if you are in
need of the farm.

Swamiji, as many people are calling us for the cloths, could you please
reply your decision about the container immediately?

Many here would like to send saris, etc. but there is only so much I can take 
when I go to India. Do you know of some way that I can forward shipments of 
used clothing from the U.S.? I understand that FEDEX and UPS are the best 
way to ship, but I don't know about customs, etc. Do you know how we can do 
this so it won't be trouble on your end. I have read reports of clothing by 
the roadsides, so do not know if clothing is most essential now. Monetary 
contributions are being made to Spiritual Life Foundation.

Thank you very much for all your E-Mail communication with update of the relief work. I remember when we were doing the relief work in Uttarakashi, The commissioner asked whose relief work it is, why you people do not have any banner of your organization, you came out of the tent and told Mr. Goswami, “THE EARTH QUAKE DID NOT COME WITH ANY BANNER SO WE DO NOT HAVE ANY BANNER.” He asked; “Why are you giving BIDI, ONION AND GARLIC?” You told; “THIS IS OUR PUJA SAMAGRI TO DO PUJA TO THESE BHAGAVAN. THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO TEACH YOGA OR RELIGION.” 

 Now-a-days I am in Hong Kong. The Chinese devotees here have handed over a draft of Rs. 1,37.000.00 for the relief work which has been posted today to Your Holiness. 

Sri Manoj Chopra, dear son of Sri kamala Chopra was here on his way to his work, Swami Jivanmuktanandaji Maharaj and I met him in his hotel room and he has given US$600.00 (six hundred), which I shall be sending very soon. 

You all have been very much present here with us, in our daily prayers; may the choicest blessings of the Lord be upon you.

I was delighted to get your letter, though it reached me after fourteen days. Herewith a check of $ 50 is sent for Earthquake Relief. I am sorry I am late in sending it as I had spent all my SSI money.

I am 77 and have no computer to follow the links and pages you told. But I am content that Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj organized it. He is the first Swami who read my booklet “Kaliyugatil Dharma” (This is written in Marathi in 1982) and blessed that it may give new dimension in thinking. Though it was published in January 1983 and I had approached many personalities, it was almost ignored, and therefore, His blessing was a boon to me.

Gurudev Swami Sivananda has given me OM Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya to chant through letter and I take H.H. as my Gurudev.

This is enough for me to know of your Spiritual life Foundation.
