31 st YTTC (Yoga Teachers Training Course) for advanced yoga students from Taipei, Taiwan continued from Feb 21, 2014 to March 13, 2014. Twenty one advanced yoga student attended three weeks of YTTC organized through SIVA (Sivananda Institute of Yoga vedanta Academy) at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad.
“We feel here our second home. We feel blessed to be here, we have learnt through YTTC syllabus Bhagawad Gita, Patanjali Yoga Sutra, traditional Science of Yoga, but even more, from just observing each ashramite working harmoniously and with complete dedication. They have taught us, what real Yoga means? what is Yogic living? what is surrendering? The Ashram is filled with divine vibrations and one can absorb it just being here. We are indebted to Pujya Swami Adhyatmanandaji."
These feelings were expressed by Yogi James Lo, Ms. Cici, Professor Winsor and others at valedictory function held for the group on March 13, 2014 in the evening from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. Most honorable Judge Mr. H. B. Antani from Gujarat High Court presided the chair and awarded the certificates. Program was conducted by Reiki Master Mrs. Rupa Majmudar. The yoga group demonstration, Mantra chanting by these students were spectacular.
Yogi James Lo, President of Yoga and Sports, Govt. of Taipei, Taiwan visited Sivananda Ashram for the eighth times. He has completed 1600 hrs of yoga teaching through SIVA. Ms. Janen, Joint Director of Sivananda Yoga Studio, Taipei, Taiwan has completed 1200 hrs of yoga teaching through (SIVA).
Also it was a coincidence that on March 1, 2014 All India Yogasana competition was organized at Atmiya Institute for Science and Technology, Rajkot and accompanied by Swami Adhyatamanandaji, this Yoga group of Twenty one from Taiwan also participated there and their Yogasan demonstration was spectacular.
On March 6, 2014 Most worshipful and Revered Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharyaji Maharaj from Jyotirmath (Sri Badrinarayan Dham) graced Sivananda Ashram on Thursday evening. He was accorded traditional welcome by the devotees at the Ashram and He spoke to them that Swami Adhyatmanandaji is keeping up spirit of His divine Guru Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj and Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj. He then narrated the story of Guru and disciple by telling story of Totakacharya and Sri Shankaracharya. He advised to be loyal and faithful to Guru and He will bring you up to the highest peak of realization of absolute. Revered Sri Shankaracharyaji Maharaj stayed over night and next day at dawn departed towards the west coast of India.
"Project READ" (Rural Educational Aid Distribution):
The Sivananda Ashram is very active in providing the services to the poor and
the sick in the society. "Manav Seva, Madhav Seva" has been the guiding
principle for whoever has been associated and working at the ashram. The Holy
Master Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj used to take the great pleasure in serving
one and all and the tradition continues.
Sivananda Ashram, Ahemdavad has taken up the Project READ for underprivileged &
needy children of Rural area of Gujarat. It is an extensive program running in
its fourth year that focuses on providing educational aid to the under served
Children in the form of distributing Slates, Black boards, chalk, Chalk Eraser
pads to junior grade students ( of 1st through 4th grade) and notebooks of 150 &
200 pages to higher grade students ( of 5th through 12th grade). Last year about
75,000 notebooks, 4500 Slates & 300 Blackboards were distributed free. This year
about one lakh notebooks have been planned to be distributed free through
various centers of Divya Jivan Sanskrutik Sang of Gujarat. Many thanks to the selfless workers at
the ashram and at various centers who
goes to schools and make it possible to reach to the needy children.
The continuation of such comprehensive programs has been possible only because
of the unstinting devotion and generous financial assistance provided by
selfless devotees of the Lord.
As always, daily five Yogasana practice Classes and Two Yogasana - Meditation classes for beginners, Reiki training for level I and II and Yogic consultation went on smoothly during the month. Food for children through Narayana Seva, monthly 600 kg grain distribution to the needy families through Vishwanath Seva Kendra, Daily Satsang & Puja Archana in the temples was performed at Ashram. Sunday satsang, Purnima’s Sri Satyanarayan Vrat Katha and Sri Lalita Sahasranam Parayana are regular part of the Ashram’s activities.

All India Yogasan Competition (March 1, 2014) On March 1, 2014 All India yogasan competition was organized at Atmiya Institute for Science and Technology at Rajkot. Formal Inauguration ceremony commenced with Pujya Swamiji lilting the lamps. About 146 participants from twenty one states of India joined the competition. Competition was held at two level , one under the age of eighteen and one over the age of eighteen. Sri Swamiji in his inaugural speech praised the large assembly of youth and inspired them to be involved in yoga culture, sports culture rather than bollywood culture. He said that Yogasana competition is not about giving the prize to the best. But, it is to bring the youth together from all over India. It is such a great moment to see youth coming from all over India under one roof, here. "India first and I am last or least. Keep up this sprit. Love your nation. Adore your culture. Speak your mother-tongue and bring glory to mother India. God bless you all !" His closing words.
Rup pura Math at Palanpur, North Gujarat (March 3, 2014) A grand meeting assembly of saints, sages and holy men was organized at Ruppura Math, Palanpur. Idol of late Guru Mahant Dolatpuriji Maharaj was installed with Ati Rudra Yajna. About 60,000 devotees with all the Saints & Mahatmas from all over India gathered at this sacred occasion.
Most worshipful and Revered Sankaracharyaji H. H. Sri Vasudevananda Saraswatiji was a guest of honour. About two thousands Sadhus , Mandaleshwar and Acharyas of number of ashrams graced the occasion. H.H. Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj on this occasion addressed to the devotees thus, "You are blessed indeed to hold such a grand gathering of holy men. It is a rare opportunity to witness such divine occasion. Your village is known as Rup Pura, meaning city of beauty. Keep up the spirit of beauty and mutual love, respect & harmony towards the fellow beings . Keep your village clean. Keep your thoughts and habits clean, Be vegetarian. Be free from vices of drink, drug, tobacco use and gambling. devalop virtues, love your nation, You will shine. Be a good citizen and bring glory to mother India."
Ahmedabad (March 8, 2014) : "Ahmedabad Mirror", a leading news paper celebrated its day of establishment by awarding Hero’s of Ahmedabad. Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji was a guest of honor at this function. About thirty four people in general and five in particular were recognized for their selfless services and honored. They are the example & inspiration to others.
Gita Jnan Yajana (March 16, 2014 to March 31, 2014) at Prempuri Ashram(Mumbai) : Sri Prempuri Adhyatma Vidya Mandir organized Pujya Swamiji's Gita Jnan Yajana, Morning discourses from 7.30am - 8.30am were on Dhyan Yoga, Chapter 6th of Bhagawad Gita & evening discourses 6.00pm -7.30pm were on Karma yoga, Chapter 3rd of Bhagawad Gita.
