"Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate and Realize" the teaching of Gurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj is the ideal keeping in front, all the activities gets carried out at Sivananda Ashram. Holy Master used to say “Do not lose a single opportunity in helping and serving others. Serve cheerfully and willingly and never show a Sunday-face or castor-oil face.” With that spirit only the doors of Ashram are open to all at all the times.

Yatra July 10, 2013 - A beautiful chariot was decorated and with
Orchestra, procession of the Lord moved around the ashram. About five hundred
devotees joined for singing and dancing Lord's Glories. Prasad was served to
all.
Guru Poornima Satsang ( July 22, 2013) Holy Gurupoornima was celebrated in great reverence and devotion at Sri Swami Chidananda Yoga-Dhyan Mandir. About six hundred and fifty devotees joined in satsang and Guru Paduka Pujan. On this Occasion, Revered Swami Adhyatmanandaji poured HIS heart talking about Holy Master and brought Gurudev's Living presence, "who is SIVANADA? feel HIM here and now, embrace HIM, Surrender to HIM, follow HIS teachings and receive Guru's grace", Swamiji said.
About the need of GURU, Swamiji said, "Guru is necessary. Never finds fault in your Guru, any action by Guru will have a purpose in that; there is a meaning to that. Accept His commands, follow His instructions, just be humble, feel his hardship and serve Him whole heartedly because this is the only instrument that will lead you towards divinity. Once you know this secret, you will cross the ocean of birth and death and you will abide in the truth absolute. Thus, this is the glory of Guru. Seek that, embrace it and realize the ABSOLUTE in this very birth here and now.".
July 31, 2013 was Aradhna day of Gurudev Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj. A special satsang was held, paduka pujan was performed and prasad was served to all the devotees. A special prayer was offered for flood victims of Uttarakhand. May God give strength to the families to cop up this natural calamity.
Seva Activities
SIVA ( Sivananda International Vedanta-Yoga Academy), During the month of July about one hundred and twenty new students were initiated to beginner yoga classes. The beginner classes were conducted from July 1, 2013 - July 10, 2013 from 5.30am -7.00am and July 15, 2013 -July 25, 2013 from 6.30pm- 8.00pm.
Reiki classes were conducted with great enthusiasm.
In the month of July, through Ashram's Sri Vishvanath Seva kendra about 600 kg. of grains and wheat was distributed to forty needy families.
As always third of the month nutritious food packages were distributed to underprivileged children of slum area. Nutritious food was provided to children under Narayana Seva
Many people with medical and physical illness get treated regularly through Sivananda Dispensary at the ashram.
work of distribution of note books, essential school supply etc have been coordinated through Project READ to the needy children.
Thanks to Gurudev for working behind the scene for running smoothly all the activities at the Ashram.
