The New Year 2013 began with Satsang, Hari Kirtan & Bhagawat Katha here at sacred ashram of Gurudev Swami Sivananda. HE is the guiding and inspiring force behind all the activities at the ashram. More and more people from all walks of life join in the Ashram's activities and evolving in their Spiritual Sadhana.
Bhagawat Katha (Jan 1, 2013 – Jan 8, 2013) Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji adorned the Vyaspith and narrated the Glories of the Lord contained in Srimad Bhagawat Purana. Large numbers of devotees attended entire Bhagawat Katha. The episode of Sri Krishna’s birth, lifting of Govardhan and Gopuja, Annakoot and Rukmini Krishna Vivah were celebrated with great devotion. Katha was solemnly concluded on Jan 8th evening with Yajana and Mahaprasad to all.
On Jan 11, 2013 Mahamandaleshwar His Holiness Sri Swami SatyamitranandaGiriji Maharaj of famous Bharat Mata Mandir (Haridwar) graced Sivananda Ashram. Devotees were happy to have His darshan and satsang. Tree was planted by His worthy hands in the Sivananda Udyan.
On Jan 26, 2013 64 th Republic Day of India was celebrated at ashram and hoisting of the national flag by Revered Swamiji.
Patotsav of Sri Dukhabhanjan hanuman Mandir (Jan 26, 2013) A Maruti Yajana was performed by large number of devotees which was followed by Holy parayan of Sunderkand by Sri Sri Ajaybhai Yajnikji of Delhi.
Shankhaprakshalankriya - It is one of the yogic kriyas of total cleansing of bowel and beneficial to your health. Sri Swamiji guided the session which was planned at the initiation of Ms. Sangeeta Thawani, a senior yoga teacher of the ashram. About sixty people participated in this session..
As always, daily five Yogasana practice Classes and Two Yogasana - Meditation classes for beginners, Reiki training for level I and II and Yogic consultation went on smoothly during the month. Food for children through Narayana Seva, monthly 600 kg grain distribution to about forty needy families through Vishwanath Seva Kendra, Daily Satsang & Puja Archana in the temples were performed at Ashram. Sunday satsang, Purnima’s Sri Satyanarayan Vrat Katha and Sri Lalita Sahasranam Parayana are regular part of the Ashram’s activities.

Gita Mandir : A prayer meeting was held for the departed soul of Brahmleen Mahamandaleshwar Sri Swami Mangalanandaji Maharaj. Revered Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj addressed a grand assembly of saints and devotees at noon, at Gita Ashram.
Gandhinagar: On Jan 12, 2013 a year long celebrations of 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was concluded at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. H.E. Chief Minister of Gujarat Sri Narendra Modi presided over function; a large number of youth were invited from University of Gujarat. Revered Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj, renowned writer Mr. Chetan Bhagat and Mr. Modi were the main speaker.
Swami Adhyatmanandaji addressed the youth. In His word, “fear not, struggle for perfection, cultivate strong will, remember your moral duties towards your motherland at all time, primarily you are the citizen of this great land of India. Indian culture is based on truth and non-violence. Be kind, be humble, be noble, but at the same time be strong muscle man, work hard, study well, serve your parents, serve your community. Be ever ready to sacrifice your life at the altar of mother India”.
Sabarkanta: On Jan 14, 2013 at dawn Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj and a group of devotees traveled to Sabarkanta district of Gujarat. They visited Rojenta, Rampur Kampa, Ambaji and Himmatnagar being an auspicious day of Uttarayana, Sun entering in its northern realm, number of charitable as well as religious programs were organized at different places. Revered Swamiji addressed the gatherings and enlightened them all.
Ganapatpura- Koth (Jan 17, 2013): At Koth an ancient Sri Ganesh temple was renovated in a splendid way. A Three day long grand festival was organized at Koth, Ganapatpura. Revered Swamiji Maharaj addressed the mammoth crowd. Idol of Lord Ganesha teaches us to listen carefully, not to take hasty decisions, think over and over, look minutely, verify repeatedly, after that keep the needful. Never cause any harm to any one, then you will be bestowed in the supreme.
Calicut (Jan 19, 2013 –Jan 21, 2013): Revered Sri Swamiji Maharaj was invited by H H Sri Swami Chidanandapuriji Maharaj, President, Advait Ashram. Kolathur, Calicut Kerala. Sri Swamiji attended inauguration ceremony of Sri Sanatan Dharma Sammelan and spoke about the very need, meaning and purpose of Sanatan Dharma, In His words, “Never forget your culture, respect every language but should communicate in mother tongue always. Wear traditional dresses and never forget the roots of your own Veda, your motherland, that is all Sanatan. Seek the truth, seek eternity, seek divinity, Never loose contact of roots and your rich heritage, your own soil, its literature, stand up on your ancient tradition, that is must, that is Sine Qua None”
Gandhinagar: On Jan 24, 2013 Revered Sri Swamiji attended a large gathering of Jyoti Mahila Sangh. This program was organized to inspire house wives to cultivate interest in reading books and involve in educational activities.
Ahmedabad: On Jan 25, 2013 Polio foundation of Ahmedabad organized Yogasan competition for handicapped children. Revered Swamiji presided over the function, distributed awards to the winners who all participated in this wonderful event.
Mota Ishanpur: Revered Sri Swami Adhyatmanandaji Maharaj was invited to inaugurate newly installed department of Medicare Centre, ICU, Blood bank, health counseling center at Sarvoday Arogya Mandal, at M. V. Patel Charitable Hospital. Hospital celebrated its silver jubilee and donors were recognized.
Valsad: On Jan 28, 2013 Pujya Swamiji made a day tour to Valsad and attended satsang organized at country club.
Sabarmati : On Jan 30, 2013 Punya Tithi of father of the nation Pujya Bapuji, Mahatma Gandhiji was observed at Sabarmati Ashram with all religion prayer meeting and was led by Sri Swamiji Maharaj.
A charity show to raise funds for Thalassemia affected children was organized by rotary club Ahmedabad at Gujarat University Convention hall in the evening. Revered Swamiji graced the function.
