"Early In The Morning"

"Pratah smarami, pratar-bhajami, pratar-namami (I remember Thee early morning, I worship Thee early morning, I bow down to Thee early morning). With these words several of the hymns of salutations and adorations, several of the well known slokas of Adi Sankaracharya begin. So much so, that this triplet of verses has come to be known as the pratah smarami stotra.
What is the speciality about praying early in the morning, worshipping God early in the morning?
 

A mystical poet has beautifully given to us, in brief, this little secret of the right way of starting one’s day, so that one reaps a golden harvest of fullest benefit from this charming, this wonderful, this magic period of the early dawn.

Thus it is that there is this special quality, a special state of consciousness prevailing in this interim period between the disadvantages of both the sleep state and the fully awakened, preoccupied state."<<More>>.

 Ratha Yatra ( Chariot Festival ) of the Lord Jagannatha at the Ashram (June 27, 2006 )

With great enthusiasm and festive mood devotees in large numbers gathered at the  ashram to celebrate a special occasion of Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath on June 27, 2006, The Idols of Lord Sri Jagannath, brother Balaramji & sister Subhadraji  were adorned splendidly after ceremoniously worshipped by temple priest. Then the idols were placed in decorated chariot and brought out for the procession. It was a joyous occasion for all. Devotees were singing and dancing in the praise of the Lord. It was a thrilling sight to be seen. The ashram was charged with divine vibrations.    
 

The Vedic scriptures state that anyone who sees Lord Jagannatha or pulls His chariots achieves immense spiritual benefit. By His supreme potency, the Supreme Lord agrees to personally enter the form of Deity, just to accept the loving service of His devotees. In this sense the Deity is non-different from the Lord Himself. And once a year Lord Jagannatha comes forth in all His magnificent splendor to enjoy the Ratha-yatra parade and show Himself to all.<< More>>

Pujya Swamiji’s Divya Tour 2006 has commenced on June 9, 2006 from Chicago, a anchor and a hub of his visits to the United States and Canada since 1995. Swamiji has completed his program at Troy (Michigan), Toronto (Canada), Toledo, (Ohio) and Chicago so far. Swamiji received a warm welcome everywhere He went. Devotees in the west love him for his simplicity, sincerity and teaching Yoga way of life.

In his searching message to the Sadhaks, Swamiji said, "Yes, my beloved friends! The divine scales weigh human actions not only by the measures of the prayer recited and Mantras chanted, not only by the measures of candles lit, lights waved, bells rung and books read, but let me tell you clearly that the divine scales measure man by the quality of the feelings harboured in the heart, by the very words with which you speak and address your neighbours and by each and every simple action of yours in your dealings with all those amongst whom Providence has decreed that you live your life." The compassionate messenger of God in these words revealed the purpose for which God has sent us to this earth plane.
